Research Untangled Ltd. was established in 2022 by Iva Hauptmannova, BSc (Hons), MA, O.A.Dip., bringing together over 20 years of experience in clinical research, research governance, ethics, and innovation within the UK National Health Service (NHS) and academia.

Iva’s NHS career included senior research leadership roles, culminating in her position as Head of Research & Innovation at a leading orthopaedic hospital, where she was responsible for developing research capability, improving research delivery, supporting innovation, and working with clinicians, academics, industry partners, and research funders.

Through Research Untangled Ltd., Iva brings together trusted experts across research, regulatory, clinical, and innovation fields to provide independent, practical advice tailored to each organisation’s needs. Our approach is grounded in real-world experience, combining strategic thinking with pragmatic solutions to help overcome barriers, simplify complex processes, and accelerate progress.

We support organisations across human and veterinary healthcare, including NHS organisations, universities, charities, MedTech and HealthTech companies, veterinary professionals, animal health organisations, and innovative start-ups.

Our mission is simple: to help organisations generate high-quality evidence that supports better decisions, drives innovation, and improves outcomes for both people and animals.

Research Untangled is also committed to strengthening the future of veterinary clinical research. Through the development of the UK Veterinary Clinical Studies Registry in collaboration with Famoso’s Animal Health Foundation, we are working to improve transparency, accessibility, and collaboration within veterinary research, helping  create a stronger evidence base to support better decisions for animal health and welfare.

We believe that better research infrastructure, greater transparency, and stronger collaboration across human and veterinary healthcare can help accelerate innovation and advance the principles of One Medicine—recognising that the health of people, animals, and the environment are interconnected.
